POND BUILDERS LAS VEGAS

Pond maintenance in Las Vegas

Care for the whole system: the water, the equipment, the plants, and the fish.

Pond Builders Las Vegas provides pond maintenance for residential and commercial water features. Choose ongoing care, a planned cleanout, help with repairs, or a seasonal review. We confirm the work and price for your pond before service starts.

Our routine care follows the maintenance scope agreed for your property. Timing and extent depend on the pond's condition, equipment, and safe operation.

  • Empty skimmer baskets.
  • Empty pump baskets.
  • Backwash pressurized filters.
  • Add water dechlorinator as needed.
  • Add beneficial bacteria.
  • Test water chemistry.
  • Rinse mechanical filter mats.
  • Prune aquatic plants.
  • Scoop floating leaves.
  • Visually inspect koi fish health.
  • Visually inspect all pond equipment.

After service, we verify operation, record the work and test results, and report urgent concerns. Visual checks help identify issues; they are not a full equipment test or a veterinary exam.

Routine service includes the agreed labor, tools, beneficial bacteria, and water dechlorinator as needed. Your agreement sets the visit schedule and exact scope. We do not perform equipment-specific steps on systems that do not have that equipment or require a different care method.

A maintenance visit and a major restoration are different jobs. The following need separate approval of scope and price:

  • Full draining and full pond cleanouts.
  • Major sludge removal or major plant removal.
  • Water changes beyond routine backwashing.
  • Repairs, replacement parts, and upgrades.
  • Fish handling or treatment.
  • Treatments outside the beneficial bacteria and water dechlorinator in the agreed routine scope.
  • Emergency visits.

We explain the proposed work before proceeding. Repairs or alterations that require a contractor license need a separate agreement and a properly licensed contractor.

When heavy debris, sludge, overgrown plants, or poor access make routine care insufficient, a full cleanout may be appropriate. We assess the pond before choosing how much cleaning it needs.

A cleanout plan can include controlled draining, a fish holding plan when needed, debris and sludge removal, cleaning suitable surfaces and equipment, plant work, refill planning, and checks before the system returns to service. The quote defines which steps apply to your pond.

For ponds with koi, fish support and water quality are part of the plan. We consider oxygen, temperature, suitable refill-water treatment, and the effect of cleaning on the biological filter. A full cleanout is not a promise to sterilize every surface or remove every trace of natural growth.

A spring cleanout is a chance to address accumulated debris and review the system before warmer weather increases demand. We look at the pond's condition, fish load, plants, circulation, and equipment before deciding whether a full cleanout or lighter seasonal service makes sense.

Spring work may include debris removal, plant trimming, basket and filter care, equipment checks, and appropriate water testing. Heavy cleaning, fish handling, parts, and repairs are quoted separately from routine maintenance.

Las Vegas ponds do not all follow the same calendar. Service timing should fit actual water conditions and the pond's needs.

A repair starts with finding the problem. We assess reported leaks, falling water levels, weak waterfall flow, blocked baskets, pump problems, filter issues, and damaged pond components.

Sometimes a flow problem comes from debris or a low water level. Sometimes equipment or plumbing needs repair. We explain what we find and separate a temporary measure from a lasting repair.

Repair work, replacement parts, and alterations are priced separately. Work that requires a licensed trade is handled through the appropriate licensed professional under a separate scope.

Request A Repair Assessment

Spring: Review debris, plants, equipment, and water quality before the hotter months.

Summer: Watch water level, circulation, oxygen needs, feeding, and algae growth. Heat can make an existing problem more urgent.

Fall: Keep leaves and dying plant material from building up. Review equipment and the care plan as temperatures change.

Winter: Adjust care to actual water temperature and equipment requirements. A blanket winter shutdown is not appropriate for every stocked pond.

Commercial properties need clear records and work that accounts for people moving through the site. We coordinate access, isolate the work area where needed, and report observed equipment or fish concerns to the property contact.

Our commercial pond maintenance can cover koi ponds, water gardens, and other existing water features under an agreed scope. Continuous monitoring and guaranteed emergency response are not part of routine visits.

Explore Commercial Pond Care

Keep an eye on water level, circulation, and fish behavior. Report new leaks, outages, unusual fish behavior, or recent chemical use promptly. Coordinate new fish, feeding changes, and treatments with the care plan. If fish are gasping or dying, call rather than waiting for the next scheduled visit.

Use The Pond Care Finder

It depends on fish load, filtration, plants, debris, season, and the amount of care provided between visits. We set a schedule for the actual pond. Some need frequent service; others need less. A calendar alone cannot tell us whether the water is healthy.

No. The amount of debris, system design, access, and condition determine whether a full cleanout is useful. Some ponds benefit from targeted cleaning while others need a more complete reset. We assess the need before recommending draining.

Full cleanouts are separate from routine care unless your written scope specifically includes one. We explain what the spring service involves and confirm its price before proceeding.

The routine agreement includes water chemistry tests and recording test results. Which tests are appropriate depends on the pond and the concern. An emergency may call for additional testing beyond a routine visit.

The goal is a manageable, healthy system and an appearance you can enjoy. Some surface growth is normal. Heavy algae, string algae, dark growth, and staining need different approaches. We do not promise that algae will never return.

Some routine cleaning can happen with the koi in place. Major work may require a separate holding plan. We choose the approach based on access, the cleaning needed, and fish protection rather than treating every pond the same way.

These are separate from the routine maintenance scope. We provide the proposed work and price for approval before proceeding.

No. Clear water can still have poor oxygen levels or unsuitable chemistry. Appearance is useful, but testing and fish behavior provide information that a photo cannot.

Tell us the pond's location, approximate size, whether it has fish, and what needs attention. Photos of the pond and equipment help us plan the next step.
